Last week before conference

Track Week 6 - 2/11 - 2/17The week started off great with a strong workout, but then went downhill.  I struggled on our speed day and raced horribly.  We also only got in 55 miles for the week.

2/11 - Recovery Day

2/12 - In the morning I ran Morning (a 5 mile loop) in about 35 minutes.  The afternoon was my first good workout in a really long time.  We did 3×3 mile on 3 minute recovery.  My splits were 15:55, 16:07 and 16:01.  I felt really strong on all of them and didn’t have to push it at all until the final stretch of the third one.  We ran in cold rain which I love for some reason.

Total 18 miles, 108 minutes

2/13 - I ran Dangerous Curves in the snow today.  I felt really nervouse, because my hand is still broke and I did not want to fall.

Total 9.5 miles, 65 minutes

2/14 - The weather was bad today, so coach slwoed down the pace on our 600’s, but I still struggled.  We did 5 of them on 5 minutes recovery, and my average time was 1:43.  My legs were dead after the first one.

Total 6.5 miles, 40 minutes

2/15 - I went for tow easy runs today.

Total 12 miles, 84 minutes

2/16 - I did a fairly quick two mile on my own to get ready for the meet.  I ran to 10th Street tehn back home along the railroad tracks.

Total 2 miles, 12 minutes

2/17 - I ran really bad at CMSU today.  I did the mile for the first time in over a year and never got into the race.  I was at the back of the pack the whole way and ended up running a 4:36.  In the 3K I was supposed to help pace Kurt through the first mile in 4:42.  I ran the exact splits coach wanted through the 1200 in 3:30, but then fell off after that and dropped out at the mile with a mid 4:40.
